Ray White Drury will be Sue Douglas’ third real estate office and will link Ray White in the South of Auckland right through to the Southern Corridor from Manukau in the North through Manurewa, Takanini, Papakura then the new Drury office and out to Pukekohe and Tuakau.
Sue and husband Wayne describe the new office as “a little bit different".
By stamping some extra personality into her real estate office, Sue said “It is definitely not your standard real estate agency.”
When the success of her space in the Takanini Village branch become the envy of her competitors when it opened in March 2014, she decided to create the same effect in the new business.
“To me, opening in Drury is a bit of a homecoming as we raised our three children primarily in this area,” she said.
The duo were very keen to create a space which oozes country comfort, including sourcing materials to make the office feel more welcoming, including items Sue discovered such as a spinning wheel, butter churn and old leather suitcase.
“We even have an old map on the wall dating from the 1950s, on which all farm holders are named,” said Sue. “The reception desk is made from old macrocarpa slabs from the old Coles timberyard; an antique bellow sits on the hearth, and on the mantlepiece sits a surgeon's handbook dating from the 1800s.”
Sue said that the pair wanted to create the feeling of being in a barn, “I wanted the new office to reflect a country feeling, and fitted out in a manner similar to the birthplace of Ray White - The Shed. There are hay bales, an old rope, reins and a saddle, there is an old telephone on the wall and a genuine feeling of rural, rustic, country life - of going back to your roots, which will strike a chord with many.”
"I love the area and wanted to create a place where people can come and talk with us about housing, business and investment in surroundings that people can enjoy," she said.
