Sitting on Apex Street in Brisbane, this property is not exactly the first thing you would think of when considering the term 'family home'. Originally an enormous concrete water tank, Brisbane woman Gail Babbage converted this unassuming street feature into a three-level, four bedroom property. Sitting high on a hill, the circular home offers complete 360-degree views through windows cut out of the steel and concrete walls.
Sold by auction on 9 May, 2013 as reported by news.com.au, Ms Babbage was recorded as saying that her home was difficult to value, as it was simply one-of-a-kind. However, the unique features of the property resulted in a total sale of just under AU$2 million.
The Side of an Office Building
Would you pay $3 million for the side of an office building in Melbourne? Sold at auction in August 2015, this is the price that was paid by a buyer for 117 square metres of a Flinders Street building in central Melbourne, according to news.com.au.
While some property buyers expect four walls and a roof, the buyer was happy to turn the wall into a rental property, using the extensive wallspace for advertising, utilising the enormous digital sign that was part and parcel of the property purchase.

The auction results ended up hitting $3000 AUD before being taken down.

After this truly inspiring sales pitch, the auction results ended up hitting AU$3,000 before being taken down.
