This week, also known as Ben Hur Week, is seeing the couples renovate their formal living areas, hallway and linen cupboards - in addition to supervising the construction of the rear of the house.
But while doing all that alone sounds tough enough, all four teams are altering the rooms in some way to ensure that if they don't win the week, they'll maximise their profits come auction day.
Newlyweds Josh and Jenna have opted to replace their basic linen cupboard plan with a four-tiered storage solution. Under the floor, there will be two freezers to give them some working room when it comes time to build the kitchen.
They will be putting floor-to-ceiling cupboards above the underground freezers, as well as venturing into the roof space for additional storage. All this is in the name of maximising user friendliness - an approach that they feel will help them bring in the cash.
Mum and dad duo Phil and Amity decided to turn the formal lounge into a third bedroom, with the idea that this will sell for much more than a two-bedroom property.
Because of heritage guidelines, they were not able to wall off the room, so they've instead decided to install a line of cupboards - which walls off the room without disturbing the cornices that would then be surrounded by perspex.
Best mates team Mark and Duncan have gone for a similar scenario, feeling that a three-bedroom property would be decidedly more sought after. They have opted to build a set of wooden cupboards, which will be surrounded by glass - an approach they hope will pay dividends.
Boyfriend and girlfriend team Dan and Dani have decided to keep their formal living, but have built into the attic space. They decided to utilise the length of the roof, to ensure that the future owner can fit as much of their lives as possible into the property.
After finishing the bathrooms the previous week, the budgets of all four couples are stretched - therefore they were offered an incentive to win this week. The winner for the hallway, formal lounge/bedroom and linen cupboard will receive $10,000 as opposed to the normal $5,000.
