When you enter Jamie and Jennifer Cottee’s stunning Clayfield home you can imagine you are stepping back into the Swinging Sixties.
Their stylish property with city views at 30 Marsden Street, Clayfield, was built in 1960 and designed by renowned Queensland architects Charlie Fulton and Jim Collin.
While the Cottees – the second owners of the house – have carried out some renovations they have kept the original 1960s joinery, light fittings, floor boards and other decorative features of the home.
Selling agents Dwight Ferguson and Alexander Shean of Ray White Ascot say there is also original 1960s furniture which has been built into the house, including bed heads, a couch and study desks.
“The Cottees have lived here for many years and carried out some renovations including an extra level which helps capture the magnificent views of the Brisbane city skyline,” Mr Ferguson said.
“The home retains its 1960s feel and is a credit to the work of Charlie Fulton and Jim Collin, two of Queensland’s best known architects, and also Jamie Cottee of Cottee Constructions.
“Charlie Fulton was Head of the School of Architecture at QUT for around 40 years and twice president of the Queensland chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects.”
Mr Shean said the immaculate three level has three bedrooms, including the master with ensuite and office, while there are spacious dining and living areas with a large entertainment room overlooking the alfresco terrace and in-ground pool.
30 Marsden St will be offered for sale at the on-site auction at 10am on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
