Parliamentary secretary to the Treasurer and Federal member for Moncrieff, Steven Ciobo, has put his Broadbeach Waters home on the market.
The property located at 82-84 Savoy Drive, Broadbeach Waters is fittingly named ‘Northcove’ has been a much loved home to the Ciobo family.
‘“I have a demanding job with lots of travel so life can get pretty intense. Northcove is a retreat for our family where we can relax and take a breath and recharge together,” Mr Ciobo said.
“My wife Astra and I love waking up on weekends and having breakfast with the kids on the deck. We have two very active little boys so it’s a blessing to be able to let them loose in the garden and watch them while we read the paper and have a few more cups of tea!
“It’s so peaceful overlooking the water and park, there’s usually ducks on our little beach and the kids love running onto the dock and throwing them bread. You’d never know you’re right in the middle of the Gold Coast.
“There are many weekends when we hardly leave our front gates. We swim in the pool, play in the sand or kick around a ball. In the afternoon our boys may have a tennis lesson, or we’ll do some fishing and have a barbeque,” he said.
The property sits on 1507m² of waterfront land and is shaded by 50 year old trees.
“The residence is extremely private and set on park-like grounds with the perfect north-east aspect overlooking a wide water cove and 20 acres of parkland,” Marketing agent, Robert Graham of Ray White Surfers Paradise Group said.
Featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms and parking for two cars, the original residence has undergone extensive renovation.
“Award-winning architect Paul Uhlmann remodeled the home, taking care to preserve and restore original features such as the timber floorboards, hardwood paneled walls and timber windows,” Robert explains.
Mr Ciobo said his family have decided to move to a hinterland property to be closer to family, including cousins who were the same age as his children.
“When we bought Northcove I felt so lucky to be able to give our kids such an idyllic place to grow up.
“Both Astra and I thought that one day we’d be giving our grandkids the same experiences here – so deciding to move on has been a hard decision that’s taken a long time for us to make.
“I’m away so often and it will make a difference for Astra and the boys to be just around the corner from our family – or at least that’s what we think now!” he said.
