LOCAL real estate pro Jennifer Walmsley has taken over Ray White Jurien Bay from outgoing business owners Greg and Margaret Johnson.

The Johnsons have spent 15 years building the Ray White Jurien Bay business into a stalwart of the region’s real estate industry but are now ready to step back to spend more time with their family.

Ms Walmsley began her career in both property management and sales and has managed several successful businesses throughout her real estate tenure. She said she jumped at the opportunity to lead an office that is part of the largest real estate group in the country.

“The opportunity to help grow the business was one of the biggest reasons for my decision,” Ms Walmsley said.

“The family values and small town origins of Ray White coupled with the national capabilities of the agency were also huge factors in me joining the group.”

All the current Ray White Jurien Bay staff will continue in their positions, while the new Ray White Jurien Bay director has set herself some ambitious goals which she said her team are well equipped to meet.

“Jurien Bay is fast emerging as both a popular tourist destination and lifestyle choice for those who can live and work anywhere post-pandemic so we are ready to hit the ground running to help service this influx of new buyers.”

Ms Walmsley added that with the increase in development, land sales and new infrastructure, she has seen a host of interstate buyers looking at Jurien Bay as the perfect place to escape high density city living.

Outgoing business owners Greg and Margaret Johnson said they are delighted to be able to hand over the reins to a knowledgeable local with more than 20 years of real estate experience.

Greg and Margaret Johnson said they are excited and happy to be retiring on June 30, 2021 and handing on their Ray White Jurien Bay business to Jennifer Walmsley and partner Kevin O'Keefe.

“We are completely satisfied that they will have a great future as a Ray White franchisee and are pleased that all of our current staff will be retained,” they said.

“We wish all of the team a great future and thank them for their dedication with the business success.

“Our time as a Ray White member has been both rewarding and satisfying with all the friendships we have made and we are sure the joy will continue as a part of the Ray White family. We are available to assist if required.”

Ray White Western Australia CEO Mark Whiteman said he was both sad and excited by the Johnson’s retirement.

Greg and Margaret have been exemplary members. They’ve run a first class business and been strong contributors to the position Ray White finds itself in today in Western Australia. They will be sadly missed, thankfully the friendship remains. We wish them every happiness in retirement,” he said.

Mr Whiteman is also excited to welcome Ms Walmsley to the Ray White Group.

“I am excited that Jennifer has taken over Greg and Margaret’s hugely successful business, Ray White Jurien Bay,” Mr Whiteman said. “Jennifer perfectly represents the Ray White family values of integrity, leadership, discipline and the ambition to strive for more. I have no doubt she will continue their legacy with grace and I look forward to celebrating her success.

“Succession of our best businesses when the time comes is a key focus for any organisation that plans to be an enduring success and Ray White Jurien Bay is a great example.”
