A 550 acre dairy farm held across 3 titles is on the market for the first time in almost 40 years with Ray White Rural selling agent Ben Wilson.

The large property, comprising two separate farms, one called Nallaview and the other Pipi, is hoping to fetch around circa $4million and is one hour out from Brisbane CBD.

Given its picturesque setting the property also has the potential to develop holiday units.

New to farming, owners Gerry and Liz Bell purchased the property in 1978 from previous owner Des Simpson. He attended every seminar and course he could to learn all he could about running a dairy farm.

Gerry said he was less fearful in purchasing the property at the time because it was already well established.

He soon embarked on the task of making the property as secure as possible, by continually improving the farm through updated irrigation systems, installing a pump down the river which runs through the property, and purchasing high quality cattle - which featured regularly amongst the top performers in farm shows and competitions.

“I have learnt a fair bit since purchasing the farm,” he said, “as I soon became obsessed with breeding Illawaras [breed of cattle], and won a few awards in my time.”

Gerry, a licensed surveyor, planning and development consultant, bought the adjoining piece of land which makes up the three lots in 1979, and enjoyed success as the two properties complimented each other.

He hopes ‘Nallaview’, and adjoining ‘Pipi’ will be snapped up by an affluent buyer, but he is sad to say goodbye after forging many memories on the land.

“I have enjoyed the farm immensely, and I am sad to sell, and hope the next owner will enjoy it as much as me and my family did,” he said.

Selling agent Ben Wilson expects to see heavy interest from experienced land holders, and says it would benefit someone who is already involved in the dairy industry, or someone who has the vision to develop a land holding of this size.
