THE magnificent Mediterranean-inspired home of the late Con Nikiforides, the famous and much-loved Gold Coast developer, is heading to auction at 58-60 Cabana Boulevard in Benowa Waters.

The man famously known for building Oracle Towers and Niecon Plaza, among many others, passed away in 2017 and his family home comes to the market for the first time.

Mr Nikiforides’s wife, Tina Nikiforides, said he had a clear vision from day one of the design he wanted for the house and that his DNA flowed through the property.

“It was a Con project from the beginning until the very end. The coffee room on the river side of the house is one of my favourite rooms and where I have some of my fondest memories,” Ms Nikiforides said.

“He set about successfully recreating the British Colonial style of Singapore’s Raffles Hotel in this particular room.

“He was also a big nature lover. He actually paid for a Poinciana Tree to be excavated from our old house with cranes and a semi-trailer to export the tree to the new house.

“The tree held special meaning for him because since they could walk, our three sons used to climb and play on the tree regularly.

“Con’s first love was rocks, minerals and gemstones. Con was a gemologist and that’s why stone has special significance for him. It’s also why the house has beautiful marble flowing throughout.

“Although this house was built 27 years ago, it was designed to have an ageless Mediterranean feel and it has stood the test of time, it absolutely holds its own in the street.

“This house has had one family living in it from day one. We built it as a family, lived in it as a family and loved it as a family. This will be a gem for a lucky buyer.”

Ray White Broadbeach Sales Agents Sam Guo and Julia Kuo echoed the family sentiment of Ms Nikiforides, describing the home as a “lived in and much-loved family home.”

“This home is masterfully built using solid concrete construction and boasts flawless finishes throughout, including vast expanses of travertine marble, and is anchored on a rare 2,003sq m* double block and offers an enviable 40-metre* main river frontage,” Mr Guo said.

“Stepping inside the foyer, beset by a soaring 22ft* ceiling, it's as if you've been transported to a grand European gallery.

“Artwork-adorned halls lead you through to your choice of informal or formal living and dining. The formal lounge/dining zone has pristine parquetry floors which gleam in the sunshine, while the informal living/dining area is a sunny space next to the gourmet kitchen.

“With its granite benches, Miele appliances and abundance of storage, it's the ideal accompaniment for entertaining within this splendid home.

“The bedrooms will also impress, with a waterfront master suite accented by an 11ft* ceiling, a balcony, a lavish ensuite and a walk-in robe.

“Bedrooms two, three and four all feature built-in robes and share access to a family bathroom with separate toilet, while bedroom five is ideal for guests, with ensuite, walk-in robe and private courtyard.”

“Outdoors is truly a tropical oasis. Towering Poincianas sway majestically by the banks of Main River, with thriving Golden Palms, Birds of Paradise and Azaleas making this a haven for flora and fauna alike,” Ms Kuo said.

“Buyers will love alfresco dining in the covered vergola or the enclosed riverfront patio, where you can sit back and watch the world go by while you warm yourself in front of the fire.

“Other features include an executive home office, an upper level billiards room with kitchenette facilities, a fourth bathroom, under house storage and a double garage with stately porte-cochere.

“It's also situated in a tranquil street, 6km* from The Southport School and the heart of Surfers Paradise, as well as 8.5km* from St. Hilda's and vibrant Broadbeach, plus within easy reach of local shops, cafes, hospitals and amenities.

“It's time for a new family to fill this grand home with laughter, love and endless memories.”

The auction will take place on site on Saturday 02 November at 1:00pm (AEST).
