Ray White Victoria hosted a seminar in July 2014 that encourages women to join the real estate industry.
A business led by women, Ray White Victoria’s CEO, Andrea McNaughton and General Manager, Kristy Bartlett are leading the way in a bid to recruit more mothers returning to the workforce.
“At our 2014 awards ceremony, three of our top five performing agents in the state were women, and all are mothers.
“I remember looking up at the stage and thinking these are three mums who have returned to the workforce. They took a risk by joining a new industry and look at them now!
“We know women can succeed in real estate even when they have a growing family. I am a mum of two young boys myself,” Kristy said.
The seminar, held on 24 July 2014, will invite women to a behind-the-scenes tour of the real estate industry. Speakers on the day will include two of Ray White Victoria’s top performing women: Cristine Jones and Carmen Stenta. Both women will talk about their own experiences returning to the workforce after raising a family.
“There are a huge amount of women wanting to return to work, but don’t feel confident going back to their old careers so they start to look for a fresh start.
“Real Estate can be an easy transition for women. Often, they’ve experienced real estate personally having bought and sold themselves - they understand the emotion of the selling process.
“Mums are so involved in their local community too - schools and sporting clubs play a big role in their home life and these types of relationships are invaluable to a real estate agent,” Kristy explains.
The goal of the seminar is to educate more women about the real estate industry and showcase the support and resources Ray White offers its agents.
“We’re celebrating the success of real women in Ray White, who love their work and who have achieved so much. And we’re using these stories to encourage others to join us,” Kristy concludes.
