THE FINAL three Queensland rural properties, once earmarked for the former Glendowner Dam project around Beaudesert, sold "like a train" at auction today for almost $15.8 million.

Ray White Rural Queensland agent Peter Douglas wrapped up the campaign of 14 properties that kicked off in June by selling the last three lots - taking the total to over $30M in sales - with a 100 per cent auction clearance rate.

In front of 200 people in Beaudesert, Ray White Rural sold all three properties to a mystery Gold Coast family who bought all three lots for $15.8M to create one big landholding. There was keen interest from the 45 registered bidders. “I am simply ecstatic with the result. It’s so brilliant to get every property sold under the hammer.

"We sold like a train today,” Mr Douglas said.

“Property 12 - a 556 hectare holding sold to very solid interest for $11.5M in a fast and entertaining auction with 14 registered bidders. Property 13 then sold for $3.1M and Property 14 for $1.2M," he said.

“I knew we’d have plenty of interest as these were genuine sales of good country which is very rarely available so close to the Gold Coast.

“The state government had shown itself to be genuine market seller and continued it to meet the market through stages 2 and 3.

“Throughout the campaign we had buyers come from interstate but today all three sold to one Gold Coast based family who have bought them to turn into a farm.”

Ray White Rural Beaudesert principal Ed Dalton and sales agent Andrew Thomson, marketed the properties along side Ray White Rural Queensland agent Peter Douglas.
