RAY WHITE Swansea business owner Troy McLennan has just undergone rapid expansion in many more ways than one.
With a region full of opportunity and growth now coupled with the strength of Australasia’s largest real estate brand, Mr McLennan is set to take the East Lake Macquarie region to the next level, just like he has done with Swansea over the past few years. The group has also expanded their name to reflect their future as Ray White East Lake Macquarie.
“Our name has always reflected our local influence being named Ray White Swansea. Over the years our little office has grown significantly due to our team's hard work, commitment to clients and dedication to our core values. The expansion of our Swansea office is a testament to our cooperation with our local competitors and the relationships we’ve built over the years.”
“We’ve always been a competitive bunch in the field, after all, healthy competition pushes you to become better. We always play by the rules, never talk ill of our competitors and we’ll never disadvantage a client in order to win business, to go against these standards would go against everything we believe in as people and a team. This value we proudly share with our new partners.”
The expansion of Ray White East Lake Macquarie has welcomed a partnership with a well-established local competing principal Michael Waller and his high-performing team.
“We are thrilled to have Michael and his team alongside us adding so much more experience and depth to our own,” he said.
Mr McLennan’s first office Ray White Swansea has been a great success story for the entire Ray White group. Starting with only two agents in the office, the team has now exceeded expectations of growth to become one of the largest teams in East Lake Macquarie.
“When we started, I had a five year vision which included hiring two or three extra agents,” he said.
“The growth of our team has well surpassed that in a much shorter timeframe, with many agents coming and joining our business on their own accord due to the positive, winning culture and values that we hold so highly.”
“Expanding our team into a second location was inspired by the desires of our clients and customers and has been a very organic progression,” Mr McLennan said.
“The requirement to fill a service gap has led us into the Belmont region, with many existing and new clients approaching us to list, sell and manage in the area.”
Mr McLennan started his journey in real estate six years ago, after working for a national retailer for more than 14 years, managing and driving teams to become top tier performers in both customer service and sales.
As a principal, he believes that it is his duty to guide and educate those who are looking to become professionals in the industry. Mr McLennan spends a lot of time helping younger agents elevate their skills by challenging their thinking of what is 'normal' for our industry so that they become successful and ethical agents.
“Ray White has a strong focus on helping each of their members and leaders reach their fullest potential and encourage the burning desire for success. The Ray White Family continues to surpass my expectations, so I am really looking forward to bringing those aspirations to my new office and continue to inspire success within our growing team,” he said.
Belmont is a suburb in the Hunter region of New South Wales, 20 kilometres from Newcastle’s CBD and located on the eastern side of Lake Macquarie.
“While Belmont is technically not far from our first office in Swansea, many locals know that travelling over the bridge is like travelling overseas ha-ha!” Mr McLennan said.
“The area is made up of growing families, lakeside dwellers who enjoy a laid-back lifestyle and ocean goers who love hitting the golden coastal sands. There is a wonderful cafe culture blossoming around Belmont and a huge number of new projects improving the landscape for families.”
“The demographic is changing and accommodating a wider range of people with properties ranging from very affordable housing into the millions for a home with beautiful bay views,” Mr McLennan said.
Mr McLennan said there was a brilliant family culture within the Belmont community, setting it apart from the hustle of nearby Newcastle while remaining close enough for convenience.
The Ray White Belmont team all live within minutes of their office and know the local area really well. “My wife Amy and I ended up falling in love with the area and have been here for over a decade now,” he said, with their young children.
“It is a wonderful place to raise a family, and we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else,” Mr Mclennan said.
Over the next 12 months, the main focus for the team is to continue providing a higher level of service with a goal to increase the value to their clients and improve the local industry standards. They believe that by delivering on service, a stronger market share fueling future growth will follow. Becoming the go-to for all real estate requirements in the region is the ultimate result, they want to ‘paint the town yellow’.
Ray White New South Wales CEO Andrew McCulloch congratulated Mr McLennan on opening his second office and his rapid success within the group.
“We are incredibly proud that Troy is opening his second office and the impact he has already made on the local community. He is a fantastic operator and I personally am very excited to see what he and his team will achieve for their local community,” Mr McCulloch said.
“Troy brings genuine expertise and local knowledge to his market, and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to provide the best possible service to their customers.”
