The Leading Ladies Journeys webinar series wrapped for the year today in utmost class and style.
Sonya Treloar, Sales Director at Ray White Bridgeman Downs and fixture of the Australian real estate community was interviewed by Kelly Tatlow, CEO of Ray White Concierge and leading lady in her own right.
The pair were welcome by Ray White Queensland Chief Agency Officer and pioneer of the Leading Ladies initiave, Sally Patch.
Ms Treloar wrote $3.5 million in gross commission last year, and arguably most impressively, just celebrated her 1000th sale of her 12-year career.
“Sonya is known throughout the industry, not just within the Ray White group, for her obsession with building relationships and is well known and loved in her community,” Ms Tatlow said.
Ms Treloar is hard to miss as well, recognised for always donning bright pink, something that has become part of her brand.
“I have always loved pink; it is just who I am, and it has always been the way since I was a kid growing up in Bundaberg!” she said.
When she decided to make her foray into the real estate world 12 years ago, she wrote a letter to each person who owned acreage in Bridgeman Downs.
“I wrote down any information about the real estate market that I could get my hands on. Then I turned it into a 2-pager and eventually it turned into my 12-page glossy quarterly market review,”
“I also had a budget of $400 to spend on phone calls with Ray White Concierge. I thought that was so much money! From that I received eight pieces of data, which to me was very valuable,” she said.
Ms Treloar said she started to identify very fast that it was all about relationships, and still maintains doing four calls per year to her database through Ray White Concierge.
“I bought 60 boxes of chocolates one year, and my husband and two kids went to my 60 clients and handed out the chocolates. I would end up in the house for an hour chatting with my clients like I was a family member.”
Ms Treloar observed that while the budget of gifts and the volume of clients has increased, the consistency has always remained the same.
“People do business with people who they like and trust. It is pretty much as simple as that. You don’t need to reinvent the wheel; don’t fix what isn’t broken!”
“Every single open home that we host is identical; I am very clear about the expectations of my team and the high level of which we represent ourselves.”
Ms Tatlow said that when the Concierge staff make the quarterly calls for Ms Treloar, they are received with much respect and adoration from her community, even if they are not ready to sell or buy.
“It is a gift to be able to help people. A byproduct is being able to succeed financially and be able to set up your family.”
In summary, the Sonya Treloar recipe can be summed up by, “Always be kind, have empathy, be brave, and be willing to help people; it is not always about the dollar,”
“If you do that in your business and your life, watch what happens.” |
