Bidders from across Australia competed for 87 lots at the 8th annual Epic Horse Sale, with hammer sales exceeding $1 million and achieving an impressive clearance rate of 88 percent.

The three-day event, held at the Armidale Showgrounds & Exhibition Centre, offered a unique opportunity for breeders, trainers, and enthusiasts to acquire top-quality horses. This year's sale marked the first time yearlings were included in the catalogue, proving to be a resounding success. In addition to the auction, a three-day incentive camp draft program took place from 21 to 23 March.

The top-priced yearling, PRISCILLAS ROSE, was purchased by Peter & Karen Reid from Jackson Noon & Mikayla Daniel for $14,000.

Organisers praised the success of the incentive programs. Blake O'Reilly, Principal of Ray White Rural Guyra & Armidale, highlighted the Epic Incentive Campdraft, where the winner, Adam Sadler, rode away with a $20,000 cheque and a substantial prize package including a custom Morrowmade saddle. "The biggest highlight for me is always the incentive programs... We hope our sponsors know how appreciative we are for their support." said Blake.

Bruce Birch, Principal of Birch Rural, applauded the exceptional quality of the top horses, presented by Jackson Noon. "The two real highlights for me was that top priced mare and filly, two absolute showstoppers and immaculately presented." Bruce said.

The sale attracted significant online interest, with 37% of bids received online. Over 1000 viewers tuned in, with 101 registered buyers and nine horses sold online serviced by Stocklive.

The 9th annual Epic Horse Sale is already scheduled for the last weekend of March 2025. Additionally, horses purchased at the 2024 Epic Horse Sale are eligible to compete in the massive Incentive Campdraft Program at the CQ Performance Horse Sale in Gracemere on August 16th, 17th, and 18th 2024.
