A block of land at Port Adelaide spanning no more than 105m² and originally for sale through eBay is going to auction.

The listing was discovered on eBay by Ray White Norwood agent, Murray Pope.

The tidy block at Lot 14 Mercantile Dock, Port Adelaide is going to auction on 28 June 2014 with a price expectation of $350,000.

“I saw the land for sale while I was looking on eBay. I decided to approach the owners and ask if they wanted some help with the selling process,” Murray explains.

“It turned out the owners were based in Queensland and they were very happy with the idea of a local agent auctioning the land.”

New to the real estate industry, Murray says this auction will be his first.

“I joined Ray White Norwood earlier this year. Who would have thought I’d list my first auction property via eBay!” he said.

Although the block is one of the smallest around, Murray does not think this will deter buyers.

“Most of the land in the area is around a similar size. Good sized and functional homes are still easily constructed by building a tri-level home with a rooftop garden. We have the plans drawn up of a home that would suit this land.

“The block would suit families and developers looking to build for lifestyle,” he said.

The quirky block is set slightly back from the waterfront in the heart of Port Adelaide.

“Port Adelaide is one of the most historic parts of South Australia. This block is situated just around the corner from the town centre and this is a fantastic opportunity to secure your very own slice of the Port,” Murray concludes.
