Award-winning Ray White Parkes agent Kim Watts was recently invited to AgriFutures Rural Women's Award dinner at Parliament House in Canberra.
Ms Watts said she met lots of people in the rural space at the awards, which were set up to acknowledge and support the essential role women play in rural industries, businesses and communities.
The award provides a platform to inspire and support Australian women to use and develop their skills to benefit their industries and communities.
“It just goes to show that if you work hard anything is possible. The drought has affected our area considerably so farmers are doing it tough,” she said.
The following evening Kim attended the Rio Tinto Women in Resources National Awards at NSW Parliament House, Sydney.
Now in its 6th year, the national awards recognise and celebrate the contributions and achievements of women. Ms Watts has proven success in selling rural properties and water sale specialist.
She also helps runs a 4,700* acre mixed dryland farming operation west of Forbes, NSW with her husband and daughters.
“I love my job because I get to meet new people all the time and to travel to different places. I also get great satisfaction out of helping people fulfill their dreams and help them to navigate their way through the sales process.”
