The Wolfmother lead singer has owned 71 Prince St, Paddington for the last 12 years but actually moved to Byron Bay some nine years ago.
Ray White Paddington agent Judi O’Dea is marketing the property with a price guide of $1.2M to $1.3M.
“I love the house as it’s so close to the city and it’s so calm and relaxing. It’s so rare to have a city view with a rainforest like scene out the back,” Stockdale said.
“You are so close to the city there yet you feel like you are in a rainforest retreat.”
The singer who grew up in nearby Ashgrove said he loved the western suburbs for its art galleries, cafe culture and famous hills.
‘I love the hills, they are beautiful and they are really good for your glutes!”
The singer actually owned the cottage next door at number 69 Prince St which is where he wrote the second Wolfmother record called Cosmic Egg, while living at number 71.

Paddington specialist, Ms O’Dea said there was two levels of carefully crafted lifestyle features at this “perfect Paddo address”.
“Prince St is so close to everything, literally a short walk to the hottest cafe precinct,” she said.
“The house is east facing with city glimpses. It’s the perfect melding of modern design with prized character features.”
Designed by Owen and Vokes Architects, the owners have retained character features which effortlessly blend with the contemporary open-plan living and entertaining areas.
Downstairs there’s the third bedroom with built-in-wardrobes, the second bathroom, laundry and the second living room which connects to another covered deck and out to a private, paved sandstone courtyard.
