MORE than 800 property managers from across Ray White’s network yesterday joined virtually online for the latest PM Power Up, an inspirational training session.

Hosted by Ray White Corporate Affairs Manager Natalie Hortz and Ray White Property Management CEO Emily Sim (pictured above left to right), the half-day session offered practical tips for the frontline members to implement in their own busy teams.

“Look up resilient in the dictionary and you’ll see a property manager. Last year was tough, but you were all tougher,” Ms Hortz said.

“In our 119 year history, we’ve weathered storms and come out stronger than ever.”

Ms Sim, who has extensive property management experience across Australia since she first joined Ray White in 2006, she was so proud of each and every one of the property managers across the group.

“I am so proud of our Ray White property managers as 2020 was literally like hell on earth in our space as we were all on the front line. I could not be more proud of our property managers, as I know we never had any clients say they weren’t heard or listened to. You nailed 2020.”

She reminded the property managers that nowadays consumers communicate differently, at a higher pace and can even have trust issues in the shadow of the pandemic.

“Anyone who has had a long career in property management knows the only reason they have survived is they enjoy a great relationship with their clients. Trust is so important,” Ms Sim said.

“But beyond trust, we have advocates which offer a whole new level of trust. Trust will give you job satisfaction and solve capacity issues and give you joy from your role every day but advocates become friends.

“You are what you do and your actions will always speak louder than words and give you the trust card. A phone call is worth much more than an email to the value of nurturing a relationship. A phone call is the cherry on top.

“Trust clients won't ever leave you. If you are trying to move all your clients into the trusted blue sky zone, this is where you want to operate everyday.”

Successful high performing property managers Danielle Antonello of Ray White Maroochydore, Bernadette O’Sullivan of Ray White Upper Coomera and Jessica Davidson of Ray White Frankston offered incredible real-life insights and tips into their busy days.

Keynote speaker Clare Desira and founder of the Top Five Movement (above) spoke on the subject filters and how they influence everything we see everyday.

Her focus was on “mindset for exhausted, frustrated and cynical front liners. Positive thinking isn’t enough and just won’t cut it.”

She believes negative thinking is boring but she knows that telling folks to “be positive” doesn’t work either as the only thing it inspires was a collective eye roll.”

Ms Desira flipped the script on mindset, resilience and leadership training. She hosts the top charting podcast, Leading Generous Teams, about how social sector CEOs are building their mindset, mental health and resilience and extending this to their teams during COVID.

Meanwhile Ray White Concierge CEO Kelly Tatlow (above) spoke about the difference between ‘zappers’ who are high energy, enjoyable, top performers in all fields, while ‘sappers’ are people who drain your energy.

“Zappers are knowledgeable, enthusiastic and trusted individuals. Sappers rarely know they are sappers, somehow they have never moved on in their career or their life. They are often the people who you went to school with but you cannot remember their name. The people in the middle are very mediocre.”

“You can all become zappers. Our mantra is ‘do, be and have’ at Concierge. Your body language, eye contact, walk, tone of voice and greeting are all ways that people judge you.”

“Don’t be boring in your voicemails and emails. Positive people always have great amazing relationships in all areas of their lives.”
