Open Day at The Shed

Sunday August 7, 2022

The first Ray White office still stands proudly, in an historical village in Crows Nest, Queensland.

It’s simply a tin shed, and it hasn't changed since Ray opened his business inside it 120 years ago.

Ahead of Connect 22 on the Gold Coast, the White family is welcoming group members to attend an Open Day at The Shed on 7 August from 11am.

The acclaimed bush poet Rupert McCall will be on hand to recite an ode that he has written about our beloved Shed, there will also be a bush band and BBQ lunch.

Rupert McCall is an Australian poet of international renown. His tributes to special events and occasions have become highly sought-after and treasured for the indelible mark they’ve left on audiences everywhere.

His connection to Ray White goes back to 2006 when he wrote an ode to Alan White on his 90th birthday and recited it at his home in Crows Nest

It will also be a great opportunity to take team photos, and read about our history including our book of Elite members from the past to now.

Crows Nest is about 30 minutes north of Toowoomba and two hours west of Brisbane; bus transport options from Brisbane and the Gold Coast will be available.

For the White family, The Shed is a symbol of the power of individual ambition, the power of Ray’s ambition. It’s a reminder of what can be achieved through hard work and a commitment to providing service to local communities, which is something to be proud of.

Of course, the business has changed so much over the past 120 years. Ray White now has over 13,000 members throughout Asia Pacific. But the business is committed to retaining all the energy and creativity that Ray had all those years ago, and the White family values remain evergreen.

This is one moment not to be missed.
