It was love at first sight for this spontaneous purchase.

Recently on Queensland’s glorious Sunshine Coast this family picked up a property that they didn’t even realise was their future dream home until the auctioneer started his call.

Richie and Donna, the new buyers of 57 Tulip Lane in Buderim attended the auction on a sunny Saturday more "out of curiosity".

But they ended up winning the keys.

“We had been keeping an eye on the market for a while. I am a builder so I keep my eye out for house flipping opportunities,” Richie said.

“When we came to watch the auction today, we decided that we loved it and would place a bid.

“We love the location and the street that it is in, and we were quite happy with the price point so we gave it a crack!”

“We are going to transform it into a Hamptons-style home for us to move in to. All of our new neighbours in the street at the auction said they can’t wait to see what we do with it!”

The single level brick home was marketed by Ray White Buderim Sales Manager and Auctioneer Brodie Rodgers and Sales and Marketing Consultant Gregory Ward.

“In the end the home sold for $630,000 and we had four registered bidders which was a great result for our vendors today,” Mr Rodgers said.

The team took 36+ groups through the home leading up to auction day, with the majority of interest coming from first or second home buyers.

“Listings are down, especially in Buderim around 30 per cent, so anything that gets listed pretty much gets sold; auction properties are performing a lot better because of the demand,” Mr Rodgers said.

“Listings are sparse in our area at the moment which creates more competition between buyers, and ultimately a great result for vendors.”
