A COMBINATION of relief and joy was felt by buyers, sellers, tenants and landlords across all metropolitan Melbourne yesterday as COVID-safe private residential inspections returned – with Ray White inundated with requests to view properties.

Hundreds of one-on-one inspections were carried out across the city with Petar Krnjeta, Sales Agent/Auctioneer of Ray White Werribee, managing 14 in one day.

“We’ve been talking about the pent-up demand for months now, but my phone literally did not stop ringing after the announcement on Sunday – the demand is incredible,” Mr Krnjeta said.

“People have been waiting weeks and weeks for this opportunity and there’s no doubt they’re now seeing a light of the end of the tunnel as transactions can now take place more easily, of course, in a COVID-safe environment.”

The day was capped off by the first online auction success since the easing of restrictions for real estate as 9 Lush Drive in Craigieburn (above) sold under the virtual hammer for over $610,000.

“The online interest for this one was really amazing and virtual inspections also proved very popular,” said Ray White Craigieburn Sales Consultant/Auctioneer Daniel Diamantopolous.

“After three private inspections yesterday, we had nine registered bidders – six of whom were active – and a strong online audience of more than 35 people, and the best still yet to come.”

“I can’t put into words how happy and relieved my family and I that we’ve been able to sell our property – we can now move onto the next chapter of our lives without any worry and it’s such a good feeling,” said vendor Dimitris Loupos (pictured above with his two children).

“I can say without any doubt the weight has been lifted off my shoulders now.”
