THIS exclusive North Queensland home at 14 Nara Ave, Airlie Beach is designed to capture the azure blue Coral Sea and island views.

Owners Roger and Shirley Wodson (pictured below) moved to Airlie Beach from Melbourne seven years ago for its laid-back lifestyle, climate and amazing surroundings as a retirement destination.

The Wodsons are now moving onto the next stage of their retirement and downsizing to an apartment in Airlie Beach, to simplify their passion for lots of travel and adventure.

“We fell in love with our Nara Avenue home with its panoramic outlook over the beautiful azure Coral Sea, the convenience of nearby islands and its proximity to the centre of the Airlie township, with its restaurants, scenic boardwalk and waterfront,” Ms Wodson said.

“We both have a passion to contribute to the environment with energy conservation and we spent our first year renovating, allowing us to capture the south easterly breezes, introducing more natural light and solar power to our home.”

Ms Wodson, a professional photographer, loves capturing the beautiful land, seascapes and frequent yacht races in the area.

She is also a local personal trainer, sailor, and is learning art, all in keeping with such an idyllic lifestyle.

Mr Wodson, who previously had a high-pressure corporate position, was quickly welcomed by the local community, as he chose to contribute his energies and organisational experience into helping restructure the local Volunteer Marine Rescue unit, and assist with Airlie Beach Cruise Ship Ambassadors.

He was recently awarded the Whitsunday Senior Citizen of the Year award in recognition of his contributions.

Ray White Whitsunday agent Steve Marks said the home had one of the best decks in Airlie Beach with its infinity edge pool which was perfect for relaxing in while drinking in the view.

“It’s a terrific family home that is made for entertaining. It’s got a decadent kitchen with three ovens, extra tall custom cabinetry and granite bench tops,” Mr Marks said.

The upper level provides for both working or entertaining, with a functional office and full cocktail bar.

The lower level offers two more bedrooms, along with another living space opening out to the second deck and large entertaining and barbecue area with access to the pool and more ocean views.

The 733sq m property also has handy two street access.
