‘Married at First Sight’ Wedding mansion on the market in Kurrajong

IF THE beautiful country manor at 570 Slopes Rd, Kurrajong looks familiar it’s because you may have seen it featured on season six of hit reality show ‘Married at First Sight’.

Last year, MAFS stars Melissa and Dino used the home as a backdrop for their pre-wedding preparations but most recently it is being sold through Ray White North Richmond elite agent Cindy Cash.

Owned by Sydney native Jeanette Wehbe, the house currently doubles as a rustic chic B’n’B and getaway home. With two separate houses on the plot and ample space, Ms Wehbe said the property is perfect for a large family or buyer looking for a holiday rental investment.

The six bedroom, two house property named Kurra-Chede, a combination of Kurrajong and Ms Wehbe’s mother’s name Rachede, will be sold through private sale with a $2.8 million price guide.

On the 2.4 hectare plot is the French farmhouse inspired Kurra-Chede villa with patterned travertine flooring, designer kitchen and Juliet balcony along with the separate Kurra-Chede manor. With its picturesque outlook and rustic elegance, Ms Wehbe said she stumbled on the Kurrajong mansion by accident during a time in her life when she was thinking about leaving the big city for something different.

“I think it was fate and I thought it would be so nice to have a change somewhere with all that fresh air,” Ms Wehbe said.

“I work in real estate so I’m constantly looking at properties and at the time I was always browsing through for something like this and I think somehow it was meant to be.

“I had been in a conversation with someone and they mentioned Kurrajong so I thought I’d check it out and it was the very first listing I saw.

“It had a video and you could see the houses and the large pool in the middle. It looked so serene and breathtakingly beautiful. I then took a trip out there and fell in love with it instantly.”

Ms Wehbe, who currently splits her time between Kurrajong and Sydney, said there are so many things about Kurra-Chede that she will miss but has made the decision to stay full time in the city for her family.

“There are just so many things I love about the property, I love the design of both houses and I love the views from the windows and balconies,” she said.

“The landscape is beautiful and the house is built high up so there’s this feeling that you’re quite high and elevated.

“One thing I will miss is the pool, it's so beautiful and you get this feeling of openness as you’re soaking up the sun and the fresh air and experiencing the tranquility and peace around the gorgeous gardens. I feel like I’m in heaven when I’m there.”

Ms Wehbe's sister, Jackie Wehbe, also currently resides at Kurra-Chede full time and is actively involved in running and maintaining the property.

Despite not being on the market long, selling agent Cindy Cash said the property has already had a strong level of enquiries and she expects to have a competitive sales campaign.

“People are being drawn in by the lifestyle the house offers, real estate like this is tightly held and hard to come by,” Ms Cash said.

“It’s a beautiful area, a lovely pocket of Kurrajong and the view is hard to match with the mountains as a backdrop.”
