Make the move to Sydney's west
It's hard to not hear about what's been happening in the market for real estate in Sydney.
It's hard to not hear about what's been happening in the market for real estate in Sydney. But one area that has stood out among others in recent times is Western Sydney.
A high-growth area, Western Sydney is fast-becoming a major employment hub in New South Wales. And because of this growth, home buyers, businesses and investors have all flocked to this thriving region.
Living in Blacktown
The Western Sydney suburb of Blacktown is one place that has been growing for some time. Figures from the 2011 Census show the number of Sydneysiders who lived here rose by nine per cent since 2006.
Most of the households in the area are made up of families, too. This is likely due to housing being quite affordable in this region, especially compared to other parts of Sydney. Recent figures from RP Data showed the median house sale price was approximately $557,500 in June this year.
Blacktown and the surrounding suburbs are perfect for raising families. Just driving through Blacktown, you'll spot a handful of schools including a mix of primary and high schools. To the east of the suburb lies Blacktown Girls High, Coreen Public and Lalor Park Public schools. Meanwhile, in the west you'll spot Blacktown West Public, Marayong Public and Marayong South Public schools, among many others.
Investing in Blacktown
Nearby suburb of Badgerys Creek will be home to the future Western Sydney airport. Not only will this make commutes for frequent flyers easier, but the airport will bring jobs into the western region, too.
There's also the Broader Western Sydney Employment Area (WSEA) plan, which will bring approximately 57,000 new jobs over the next 30 years. In the future, this will expand to an even higher 212,000.
