Australian swimming royalty Susie O’Neill is selling her family’s riverfront Brisbane home of almost 19 years.

The elite swimmer and eight-time Olympic medallist who is now on Brisbane’s Nova 106.9 breakfast radio show with Ash, Kip and Luttsy has listed her contemporary architecturally designed Yeronga home with Christine Rudolph of Ray White New Farm.

She and her medico husband Cliff Fairley, an ophthalmologist, bought their five bedroom entertainer at 401 Brisbane Corso, Yeronga in 2001.

“We have loved this house since we bought it back in 2001. This is where we had our children and we love the river and all that goes on there, we especially like seeing the rowers in the mornings,” Ms O’Neill said.

“It truly is a great house, ideal for families and entertaining.

"It is going to be emotional selling it.”

Ms Rudolph said this riverfront family residence offered a golden opportunity to enjoy life on the famed Brisbane Corso.

“Designed by architect Harry Poulos and renovated as recently as last year, the extremely private 875sq m north-facing property offers the perfect river aspect with a peaceful outlook across the water to leafy banks and morning rowers,” she said.

“The home has the perfect north-facing aspect across the water to the leafy bank beyond.”

“Yeronga is just 7km from the CBD, and a truly hidden pocket as you only get locals driving here.“

Keen cyclists love the Brisbane Corso as a well cycled path on the river loop.

Ms O’Neill said she chose to work with elite marketing specialist Chistine Rudolph as she was “such a great marketer and a true professional.”

One of the best unique selling features of the house is its heated pool, where you can train like a professional athlete in the Elite Fastlane pool, only one of two in all of Australia.

“I was in the Australian team for 12 years but I have been a swimmer for 20 years of my life. What I love about the Fastlane pool is the convenience of it. I can use it as a normal pool and jump in and cool off or I can use it to exercise by swimming against the current,” Ms O’Neill said.

“You can also run against the current and our kids have a lot of fun with it, on the kneeboard.

“What I love about it is we have a conventional pool but it is so much more practical as it can be used for exercise.

“For me, swimming is a great relaxation and even 15 minutes in the pool at the end of the day is great but I am not going to drive all the way to a 50m pool to do that, so it’s very special.”
