RAY WHITE's Karl Secondis, pictured on the right, came runner up to Daniel Harris, director of projects and sales professional at Real Estate Central.

Karl Secondis, Ray White Bayside, competed in the REINT Auctioneering Championship recently bringing home second place and earning himself the right to compete in the Australasian Auctioneering Championships in Auckland in October.

He started competing in auctioneering competitions from a young age as a way of learning the trade, and has continued to do it every year. Karl says there’s a real comradery to be found between the competitors and regardless of how long you’ve been doing it, there’s always something to learn.

When asked what he loves most about competing Karl saw it as a great way of pushing yourself to be better.

“Darwin is a small market but it’s important for me to be at the very front of my game in that landscape. And if I’m going to do it, I want to do it well,” Mr Secondis said.

“The goal is to qualify in the finals of the Australasian competition… no one has ever made the finals from NT before.

“It’s just a great experience to be up against such tough competition.”
