Hell Week has officially come to a close for The Block contestants, as all four couples managed to produce solid bathrooms.
Newlywed duo Josh and Jenna managed to bring home the bacon, with their sleek, luxurious look winning over the judges. Not only were their tile choices far and away the best, their selection of marble as a backing for their bath ensured that their room was a hit and would work well when putting the property for sale.
One of the judges described that room as goose bump inspiring, as the marble that was utilised was done so sparingly and "perfectly". Given that Josh and Jenna invested much of their budget into the feature piece - it was welcome news, in addition to all the other glowing comments that were received.
It wasn't an easy win though, as the married team had to ensure that in the last 24 hours before room reveal, all the jobs that required power tools were completed before noise regulations kicked in.
Tradie mates Mark and Duncan cruised into the last 24 hours of Hell Week, as touch-ups, minor painting and decorating were all that were needed. They selected a style of tile which resembled wood - a choice which they felt, would pay off in the end.
While Mark oversaw much of the bathroom's construction, Duncan was dispatched to decorate the room. He ended up selecting porcelain bull and rhino heads to mount on each side of the bathroom, then hanging a piece of lady's lingerie on the bull's head to communicate which side of the room was the woman's.
The judges loved that wacky move, but were less enthused by their urinal, which was installed in addition to a toilet.
Boyfriend and girlfriend couple Dan and Dani bounced back from a couple of weeks in exile, producing a beautiful room with lovely granite tiles. One of the judges even commented that he would put in the same tile choice for his own bathroom.
The vanity was also a standout, while the lack of storage was a problem - an oversight that all the couples were guilty of.
The losers for the week were mum and dad team Phil and Amity, who still produced a solid room. While Amity thought her fireplace would be a secret weapon, the judges wondered whether - as an everyday feature - it was practical enough. The mirror that doubled as a TV won the judges over, but felt that a real lack of storage was a big letdown.
While Josh and Jenna won the week with 25 points, Mark and Duncan and Dan and Dani scored 24 points, while Phil and Amity brought up the rear on 22.
