Impulse inspection ends in buying and selling success

BELLA VISTA locals Diane and Les Jarjoura weren’t in the market for a new home but when they visited a Glenhaven open for inspection on a whim they immediately fell in love.
The couple didn’t miss a beat in making the Glenhaven property theirs and listing their 10 Rowanbrae Cres, Bella Vista (pictured above) home with Ray White Castle Hill Agent Daniel Llamas.
Fast forward a month and their five bedroom Bella Vista home sold under the hammer through Ray White Auctioneer James Kerley for $2,200,000.
The Jarjouras bought the Bella Vista house 16 years ago and did a full renovation but with their children gone they knew that the Glenhaven home was the perfect excuse for a lifestyle change.
Ms Jarjoura said they had no worries going into the sale of their home.
“We actually weren’t looking to sell. As a one off, we went and looked at a house in Glenhaven that we ended up purchasing,” Ms Jarjoura said.
“It began as just a joke but as soon as we walked in we knew that it was the next one.
“We weren’t planning it but it felt right and we’re really happy because everything worked out well in the end.
“The Bella Vista home is beautiful and we were confident it would sell, especially with Daniel managing the campaign.”
Ms Jarjoura passed on some advice to sellers saying they need to make sure they pick the right agent, do the research and understand the market.
“Picking an agent who you trust is so important,” she said.
“Go into it with open eyes and be very aware of what the area and the market are going to provide in terms of results.
“Auctions put a finite deadline on the result whereas private sales could go on for months. In our case we needed the house sold quickly so it was the best way for us to go, especially in this area.”
The Rowanbrae Crescent auction attracted seven registered bidders after a campaign that had more than 80 inspections. The new owners are a young family moving to the area for work.
Mr Llamas said that there’s still low stock levels even in spring meaning he’s getting big numbers going through inspections and at auctions.
“People should consider selling now when there is not much supply because they’ll sell in isolation and without that competition it’s a great time to secure premium results,” the Castle Hill Agent said.
