FOR a lucky Newcastle couple, it was a day of firsts as they officially put the sold sign on their new home at 16 Stanley St, Belmont then sealed the deal with a proposal.

It was a beautiful sunny day as couple Brody Allen and Keely Coles finally got the keys to their first home. Unknown to Keely, Brody had another milestone in mind as he got down on one knee, proposing in front of their new home.

The pair met in their teens and Mr Allen said he had always planned to propose on their tenth anniversary.

“I wanted it to be somewhere where we both accomplished something together and thought it was the perfect place and time,” Mr Allen said.

“It was a stressful experience due to my car breaking down but I managed to get the ring two hours prior to the proposal.”

The couple had been looking for their first home since the start of the year and Mr Allen said at the beginning of COVID they were unsure what to expect in the market and if the restrictions were going to make it difficult to buy.

“We were both very excited about purchasing our very first home together, it was quite overwhelming and Keely was in pure shock after the proposal, but we both could not be happier,” he said.

“Overall, we had a really good experience with all parties, Mark the agent was super supportive and helpful with whatever we needed.”

The house was sold through private sale for $582,500 by Sally Kuppers and Mark Martin of Ray White East Lake Macquarie.
