Ray White Rural Dayboro | Eumundi selling principal Vicki Pain is marketing the property at 157 Middle Creek Road, Federal via expressions of interest.

Known as Rosedale Homestead, the property was originally established in 1908 as one of Federal's founding dairy farms, and sits on 28.3 hectares with two separate titles.

It operated as a dairy farm and then from 1950 as a dairy and bean farm.

“The property represents a remarkable restoration journey, with more than $1 million invested in bringing the historic homestead back to its former glory while incorporating contemporary comforts,” Ms Pain said.

Original features of the house include decorative ceiling work as well as the front deck which has been carefully preserved.

Owner Simone Inns bought the property in 2021 and said it was named ‘Federal’, after the Settlers from Federal NSW where they branched away.

Ms Inns is relocating to the Gold Coast and said the homestead served as a working dairy farm before transitioning to bean production in the 1940s and 50s.

She said the character of the original bean shed has been reimagined as a rustic man cave, while the sunset bar is the perfect place to unwind with views over the surrounding mountain range.

“The property has been thoughtfully updated for modern living,” Ms Inns said.

Ms Inns said when she first bought the property it was a run-down farm and described it as a “near knock-down”.

“I never thought we could take it to the next level - it looked like nothing was salvageable,” she said.

“But we fell in love with the internals of the Queenslander. The property ended up having all the potential, all the possibility.

“This property honours its past while embracing the future.”

Ms Inns hoped to use the Rosedale Homestead as a pop-up wedding venue or a professional farmstay however said it was now time for someone else to take over the property.

“This property would be perfect for someone looking for an urban change, or someone who might be into organic farming,” she said.

“It’s a property that is so easy to look after, and the creek has fresh running water - ensuring year-round water security for horses or cattle.

“The swimming hole was used somewhere around 1950 to 1980s where local children had lessons to swim.”
