THE pioneer of MMA fighting in Australia is selling his Brisbane warehouse conversion, which has served as the base for both his family and business for almost a decade. Retired UFC competitor Chris “The Hammer” Haseman (48) is also one of the country's most accomplished and recognised fitness trainers, working with the likes of the Brisbane Broncos, Queensland Reds and Australian Wallabies. His three-level property at 12 Moore St, Albion is extremely private, flanked by commercial buildings just 5km from the CBD. The lower level has, over the years, been the premises for his Fitness Industry Training business, with the family living on the middle level and enjoying a fantastic rooftop bar above. "In that ten years, the building has had a lot of uses," Mr Haseman said. "Party upstairs, live on the middle floor and work downstairs. The offices can very easily be dismantled and turned back into a garage. I've had the Reds and the Broncos downstairs in the gym. Dave Taylor agreed to his contract over the phone here, saying 'yes' to Souths on the driveway. There's been some great things happen in this place over the years." The vista across the city from the top two floors is completely unexpected and almost priceless. "I call it my 'industrial acreage' because at around four o'clock everyone on the block goes home," Mr Haseman said. "I can open a window, sit on a stool, drink my red wine and watch the city. There's an exclusivity and a uniqueness to this place that you just can't get anywhere else in Brisbane." Ray White Ascot sales and marketing consultant Damon Warat said it's a property which offers multiple options. "It's a flexible layout which can be converted to suit the needs of the buyer," Mr Warat said. "A property of this type, so close to the CBD is truly one-of-a-kind. The views alone are worth their weight in gold and we're expecting a great level of interest." The on-site auction of 12 Moore St, Albion is scheduled for Saturday, March 24 at 3pm.
