Investment conditions are ripe for real estate in the Sunshine Coast, as new figures have demonstrated just how strong the economy is in Queensland.
Recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) found the number of employed people in Queensland rose by 30,700 people over February, seasonally adjusted, resulting in the state possessing the biggest increase in the country.
Second to this was New South Wales, which saw a rise of 13,900, showing the large strength of the employment sector in Queensland. However, looking at data closely, the Sunshine Coast was found to be the "employment powerhouse" in the state due to the high number of jobs created in the region.
Commenting on the release of the statistics, Queensland Treasurer Tim Nicholls said it's a further sign of confidence for all those living in the state.
"The employment growth experienced on the Sunshine Coast in the year to February 2014 was more than eight times greater than the state-wide average," Mr Nicholls explained in a March 20 statement.
Over 10,000 more people living in the Sunshine Coast are employed compared to a year ago, while unemployment dropped 0.6 percentage points.
"This drop in unemployment occurred even though more Sunshine Coast residents have started looking for work, with the participation rate increasing by 2.9 per cent," said Mr Nicholls.
Investing in the Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast is becoming a stronger area for investors to secure residential real estate, as the economy begins to strengthen. As employment figures can directly affect the real estate market by bringing in more home buyers and renters, this type of activity seen in the Sunshine State over February signals improving investment conditions.
While investment could be a top choice on the coast, higher employment opportunities could also lead to more owner occupiers moving to the state. Aside from strong employment growth, the area is home to a number of great amenities, such as schools and universities, all while being only and hour and a half away from Brisbane.
However, regardless of if you're looking to secure a residential real estate investment or family home in Buderim or surrounding areas in the Sunshine State, it's imperative you have the right assistance by their side to ensure a wise investment decision.
