AUCTION attention turns to the Gold Coast this weekend where buyers are getting in early to snap up properties ahead of The Ray White Surfers Paradise Group’s annual flagship real estate program.

Half a dozen homes on The Event’s initial auction guide of 103 properties are now off the market after selling before this Saturday’s big show.

RWSP CEO Andrew Bell said the early sales reflected a busy start to the year.

“Record numbers of people (are) visiting the Gold Coast through the holiday season and off the back of this we have had extremely high inspection numbers on most of the properties,” Mr Bell said.

“People are confident about the Gold Coast and after years of uncertainty, a lot of pent-up demand and a need to readjust their real estate holdings has seen a surge of buying activity.”

Properties to go under the hammer at RACV Royal Pines Resort range from one-bedroom apartments to luxury mansions, as well as major investment opportunities.

“The Event will provide buyers with a wide range of choice across many marketplaces throughout the Gold Coast and in a wide range of price brackets and property types,” Mr Bell said.

“There is an air of excitement and The Event should prove to be a further insight into the 2020 real estate market.”

Around 2000 people are expected through the doors at The Event which kicks off at 10am and is held in conjunction with the Gold Coast Home & Living Expo.

Properties of note include a six-bedroom riverfront mansion at Sanctuary Cove (above), a Hamptons-inspired entertainer, and the perfect penthouse with private rooftop and 30m marina berth.

North of Brisbane, on the Sunshine Coast at 11am, is the auction of a house with unrivalled coastal and hinterland views, and within walking distance to the beach.

Ray White Mooloolaba’s Brent Higgins said the four-bedroom home at 24 Buderim Ave, Alexandra Headland (above) offered arguably the best views on the Sunshine Coast.

The house was extensively renovated in 2012 and was a HIA awards finalist.

Elsewhere across the country, there’s a “ripper auction this weekend” in Victoria for 16 Benwerrin Drive, Wantirna (above).

Ray White Wantirna’s Simon Vowles said there was plenty of interest in the family-friendly four-bedroom home ahead of its 10.30am auction.

“We have had over 130 groups through our open inspections over the last three weeks and a lot of interested parties bidding this Saturday,” he said.

“It’s a great price for a four-bedroom house in that area. The owner’s been there since the ‘70s and has kept the property in immaculate condition.”

Mr Vowles has listed the property with a price guide of $760,000 to $836,000.
