Double delight: Multi-million Ray White Ferntree Gully auctions

HUNGRY buyers defied the recent doom and gloom predictions as multiple bidders fought it out for two Ray White Ferntree Gully properties, selling for a combined $2,155,500 this week.

“It was really comforting to see the depth of bidders that still want to engage with and buy property,” said Ray White Victoria Associate Director and Auctioneer Jeremy Tyrrell (above).

“It proves when we go out of our way to provide safe and hygienic environments for our bidders and buyers – people are very much willing to turn up and buy property.

“There’s definitely a good depth of buyers out there who are currently pre-approved and the feeling is they want to take advantage of that before it expires.”

Ray White Ferntree Gully Partner/Sales Consultant Aaron Clarke and Sales Consultant Daniel Nik kicked things off with the $825,000 sale of 19 Ophelia Street (pictured below), successfully called by Mr Tyrrell.

“We had 10 registered bidders on the night, five of whom were active, and that helped drive the on-the-market price of $740,000 up to the final sale price,” Mr Clarke said.

“The campaign had already been running for three weeks, and having kept up to date with the Government announcements, we made a late call to bring the auction forward.

“We knew from feedback it was going to be a good auction and we worked tirelessly to ensure everyone who inspected was made aware and the competition was clear to see.

“In the end the lucky winning bidders were first home buyers, who joined the auction late, and secured the property with a final $500 bid.”

And the highlight was in The Basin, where Ray White Sales Consultant Michael Nguyen and Sales Consultant and Auctioneer Rene Mawad managed the $1,330,000 sale of 6 Norman Street (pictured below) – a whopping $230,000 over the reserve price.

“We made the decision to bring the auction forward because of the current climate and gave the people who inspected 24 hours’ notice of the change,” Mr Nguyen said.

“We had more than 120 people through the property in 10 days so we were confident of getting the highest price for the vendor, and indeed, the property attracted over 25 bids.

“The buyers currently live in Glen Waverley and are actually planning on selling their own property by bringing their auction forward or selling prior.”
