ENOUGH people to fill Sydney’s ANZ Stadium have attended Ray White auctions since July 1, 2018.

According to the Ray White Group Auction report, the overall attendance figure at Ray White auctions this financial year has reached a whooping 84, 235.

It was another busy week for Ray White auctions across Australia and New Zealand with the number of listings scheduled to go under the hammer reaching 460, well above Ray White Group’s weekly average of 380.

Also above par was the total attendance figure last week of 11,353, which had an average crowd size of 35.3 compared to Ray White Group’s average of 30.6.

Having an impact on l

ast week’s higher than normal figures was Ray White Queensland’s Brisbane Auction Spectacular, held Sunday at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Of the 47 properties on the order of sale, the biggest price was $4.350 million paid for a grand house at 100 Oriel Rd, Clayfield by a local family with school-aged children upgrading from nearby Hendra.

It was also the highest Ray White sale price under the hammer last week.

Ray White New Farm agent Tom Lyne said the property was meticulously built in 1987 and tightly held for three decades.

“It’s been a cherished family home from day one,” Mr Lyne said of the four-bedroom house which sits on 2034sq m with manicured gardens and Helidon sandstone.

“A home of this calibre is rarely offered to the Brisbane market.”

In front of a crowd of 200 people, Ray White auctioneers Haesley Cush and Mitch Peereboom worked their gavels into a frenzy on a stunning blue sky day in Brisbane.

Accountant Gregory Hall was the winning bidder of 48 Didsbury St, East Brisbane which he bought for $920,000 earlier in the day.

“We need to buy some furniture now,” said Mr Hall with a chuckle.

The Hall family have been living on their catamaran moored at Dockside, Kangaroo Point since 2010 after they sailed the boat – which they also built – from South Africa with their three children.

The Gold Coast Bulletin featured the sale of a Mermaid Waters renovator which sold at auction for $930,000 to a local family.

Mitch Palmer and Jamie Harrison of Ray White Mermaid Waters marketed the four-bedroom house with 22m of water frontage.

“It was a great entry-level opportunity to get into Mermaid Waters on the waterfront,” Mr Palmer told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

Meantime, the Sunday Telegraph reported the $1.05 million sale under the hammer of a Baulkham Hills four-bedroom house, listed by Ray White Baulkham Hills selling agent Ash Singh.

“The sale went well because it was a larger corner block and had lots of potential,” Mr Singh told the reporter.

Seven buyers registered to compete for the property at 1 Sutton Place, with bidding opening at $900,000 and increasing in increments of $20,000 and then $10,000.

More than 120 groups were shown through the home during the campaign, and it was the most clicked auction listing in New South Wales for the week.
