MORE than $16 million worth of property sold under the hammer last night at Ray White Adelaide Group, Ray White Norwood and Ray White Semaphore’s combined auction event at the Adelaide Oval.

The Ray White Auction Extravaganza saw 18 properties sell under the hammer, two placed under contract by this morning, with six more currently under negotiation.

“It was a fantastic night with over $16 million worth of property sold,” Ray White Adelaide Group Group principal and auctioneer Brett Pilgrim said.

“A packed house of around 150 people, including approximately 50 registered bidders, really got involved in the event and it was a lot of fun. There was bidding on nearly all of the properties.”

Mr Pilgrim said the event got off to a flying start with the $1.25 million sale under the hammer of 12 Coorara Ave, Payneham South (above).

“That first sale was up there with the best on the night,” he said.

“The $656,500 auction of 45 Gambia Ave, Hampstead Gardens was incredibly long as we got down to two parties calling out $500 bids, which went for about 50 bids. There was a couple of properties which sold under the hammer last night with just one bidder which was a great result as that rarely works at onsite auctions. There was also an exciting run in the middle of the night with four properties in Norwood all selling one after the other, so that was fantastic to see.”

Testimony to the success of last night, Mr Pilgrim said The Auction Extravaganza would become at least a biannual event.

“It was a really positive night and everyone enjoyed themselves,” he said.

“A lot of people came for a look and loved the format, venue and the property expo.”
