RAY White Norwood Sales Executive Stefan Siciliano last night sold his 107th property of the financial year as 9 Woodcroft Avenue in St Georges sold for $991,000 under the virtual hammer.

A whopping 21 registered bidders were online for the auction as multiple bids pulled the sale price up from the opening bid of $700,000.

“This property had been in the same family for 90 years and it was the first time it had ever been offered to market – the interest was remarkable,” Mr Siciliano (pictured below) said.

“We had 34 people through the door for private inspections and we were able to ensure 21 of those were in a position to bid on the night, with nine of them eventually competing.

“This is now the fourth property out of five I’ve been able to sell at online auction since the COVID-19 restrictions came in and that’s testament to the whole Ray White Norwood team.

“It’s only the fifteenth sale in the St Georges suburb this year as it’s highly sought-after for its excellent schools, and indeed, it was a family from Broadview that were the winners.”

Ray White SA Chief Auctioneer John Morris said the result was a watershed moment that highlighted just how comfortable buyers had become with the online auction platform.

“Having 21 registered bidders for a property in any climate is a real achievement and this sale goes to show bidders and buyers have fully adjusted to the technology,” Mr Morris said.

“People have been working out from home in recent times but I can tell you the auction last night was the best workout I’ve had in a long time with bids flying all over the place.

“The team at Ray White Norwood with their set-up (pictured above) have been exceptional in their transition from on-site to online auctions and I have nothing but praise for them all.”
